Things I Like

August 31st, 2010

-Autumn (not quite here yet)
-Ideas that are too ridiculous to be practical
-Looking somewhat insane
-Beautiful songs with only two chords
-It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
-Conversing with someone without formally meeting them
-The word ‘Autumn’ (way better than ‘Fall’)
-Laughing with other people without actually hearing the joke
-Collapsing after a long day and remembering that it doesn’t really matter

Here, There and Everywhere

July 23rd, 2010

This is a public commitment to begin posting more. I have been taking my time in Europe to enjoy it rather than worry too much about updating this and that. It was all a grand plan of mine, of course. Go to Europe, experience phenomenal happenings and represent these in this web space once I had returned. I have realized quite a few things here, including that I enjoy writing more than I had recognized in the past. Hopefully that will be reflected here.

Updates on my personal projects are soon to come as well. For now, back to finishing them up and enjoying my last weekend in Barcelona.

Party hardy.

Travel Brochure

June 26th, 2010

I’ve never been
to Yarra Glen
or Carlsbad
or seen Big Ben
But you and I
are silly friends
vacationing
don’t matter when
Just call me up
it won’t be hard
we’ll run around my neighbors yard
and fall down laughing in the snow
there’s no place that I’d rather go
Don’t want to take
a super train
a limousine
or big jet plane
Just picnicking
two loaves of bread
some cheap red wine
strawberries please
instead.

Teen Stop

May 25th, 2010

rock and roll and rock and roll that car right off the road
she grabs that hair and gasps for air until the tires explode
the headlights dim and fade and dim and fade
the car won’t start
the breeze turns dry and cold

Why My Grandpa Rocks

April 15th, 2010

It’s the little things. When sharing the warm laughs, the loving wisecracks (about everyone in the family), the sunday afternoons of relaxing chat about baseball, it’s impossible to fail to see his love of life. But the way my grandfather gives and shares his love goes beyond close friends and family. Since long before I was born he has been giving blood every chance he could get, in order to share his health with those who are in need. He recently gave his 300th donation and (since starting in 1953) it is possible that he has saved over 900 lives. In the most selfless and simple way my grandpa has helped the world and continues to inspire me. He rocks and he is a hero to me.
